Welcome to Community Integrated Development Initiatives

Community Integrated Development Initiatives (CIDI) – a National Development Organisation - was founded in 1996 and is registered as an indigenous ‘not for profit’ organization. The organization was established with mandates focusing on mobilizing and empowering communities to improve their livelihood and guide them towards self sustainability. It must be mentioned that it succeeded in keeping up that visualization up to date.

Over the years, the organization has increased its areas of operation and expertise and aims currently at enhancing food security, contributing to better primary health care among urban dwellers, supporting income generating activities in agriculture, increasing awareness of the importance of a protected environment,  improving access to clean water and sanitation facilities and empowering the civil society.

CIDI’s actions are directed at offering development services and contributing to improve the lives of especially the poor, vulnerable and marginalized.

CIDI successfully uses participatory approaches in setting community objectives and in implementing its programs. Capacity development through promotion of selected technologies, entrepreneur skills, trainings and provision of material support to communities has been at the centre of CIDI’s existence.

Currently CIDI employs more than 70 staff members, spread over the head office in Kampala and the different field offices (Amuria, Katakwi, Luweero, Napak, Rakai, Soroti).
